The Continental Hotel And Spa, Heathrow - Hounslow

I had a great time with a comfortable room and enjoyed access to the swimming pool and gym. The breakfast was satisfying, though I expected more from it. I would stay here again.

The room was tidy and normal double.

Marvellous location, a tube station was close to our hotel. We had satisfactory breakfasts with toast and fruits, as for instance.

Loved the free access to the health club and the big swimming pool! The gym facilities are a great bonus.

Reasonably clean accommodation, attentive and polite staff both on the reception and the manager at breakfast. Handy and magnificent location, close to an arts theater. Based near to Hounslow, an underground station, and Heathrow flight path. ...

Free access to Gold's Gym is a solid perk for fitness enthusiasts, offering a fully equipped facility just downstairs. The spacious room provided ample room to spread out.

The atmosphere felt worn down, with signs of needed maintenance glaringly obvious, like water-stained carpets and peeling wallpaper. Certain room features, like the heating system, seemed to have a mind of their own. The breakfast experience was chaotic, cramped seating and limited options caused a good start to devolve into a frustrating wait.

The hotel is at odds with the area in which it stands, being welcoming, professional and stylish. The rate we paid was good for a 'London' hotel.

It takes a while to reach by Tube from some of London's northern train connections (Euston, Liverpool St, Paddington, Kings Cross St Pancras) - our journey from Euston took over an hour, which was unexpected. The hotel is very good on the interior despite being nothing special to look at from the exterior and the staff are helpful, despite the disappointment of not being able to cancel a booking we no longer required the day before our arrival, despite the hotel being full (we assumed the room may have come in handy in the circumstances). The real downside is Hounslow itself - very unwelcoming after dark. Best to simply stroll between the hotel and the nearby Tube station (Hounslow Central) and avoid the town centre once the working day is over, due to some of the characters that hang around there.

The gym was very well equipped. The location to the tube was good, about 5 mins walk to the station and the tube took about 40 mins to central London.

The hotel was more like a 3 stars instead of 4 stars.

The Continental is a little gem, offering excellent value for money in a convenient location for the train (Piccadilly Line) to either the Airport or Central London. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurants and local shops of Hounslow are...
